The contract for the construction of Petrochemical Plant has been signed jointly by Iran and UK

Iran National Petrochemical Industries Co has awarded jointly to Semb Corp Simon Carves and EIED the contract for construction of one Polystyrene Plant.

The total value of the contract is 147 Million Euro. The scope of work is providing the technical know-how, basic and detail engineering, procurement and procurement services, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning. The plant location will be in Assaluyeh Port and the Pars Petrochemical complex .The duration of the contract is 36 months.

When signing the contract, Mr. Mohammad reza Nematzadeh, the deputy of oil minister and managing director of National Petrochemical Industries, stated that the plant is one of the biggest plant in the world and the capacity is 250,000 tons per annum which include two lines of general purpose and high impact Polystyrene with the capacity of 100,000 tons and 50,000 tons consecutively.

He added that the Polystyrene products will be used for export and import ground.

The estimated feed for this plant (about 250,000 tons) will be provided from Styrene monomer unit of Pars Petrochemical Complex.

Mr. Nematzadeh estimated that the total value of production for this plant after finalization will be at least 250million $ per annum.
